RBTX is an online marketplace from igus for low-cost automation that offers ready-to-use robotics solutions — from robot arms and grippers to camera systems — for tasks like assembly, handling, and quality inspection. With guaranteed compatibility and user-friendly configuration, RBTX removes barriers to automation and makes robotics accessible especially for small and medium-sized businesses.

 

THE WHOLE STORY

 

Our customer igus is very innovative and keen to experiment. A strong focus on customers and an incredibly inspiring hands-on mentality lead time and again to new successful business areas.

In January 2019, igus approached us with a product idea. So we held a design sprint together to test the idea with potential customers. The result of an intensive week was various solution sketches, a prototype, lots of customer feedback and a strategy.

Within 3 months, we developed the MVP (Minimal Viable Product) of rbtx.com and a trade fair demo for the HMI (Hannover Messe for Industry). The trade fair demo was a robot application based on AWS IoT Greengrass. It was exhibited at the trade fair stands of igus and Amazon AWS.

We have been continuously supporting the design and technology of rbtx.com since then and have repeatedly helped the customer to adapt the strategic direction in various workshops.

Today, rbtx .com has been rolled out worldwide and is a market leader for robotics applications. To date, over 400 automation solutions have been implemented via this platform.

MESSEDEMO

The prototype was a robot playing tic-tac-toe. It could be controlled by human speech and was one of the first applications worldwide to be managed with AWS RoboMaker.

RESUME

In collaboration with the client, we developed an online marketplace within a very short space of time and presented it at the trade fair - using modern design thinking methods.

Together with Amazon, we ran a trade fair stand that attracted international interest. We still manage the marketplace today and support our client on the path to long-term success.
